HARVEY, La. (AP) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says a trucker's leg was slightly burned in an explosion at an industrial site near New Orleans.

Sheriff's spokesman Col. John Fortunato says firefighters quickly put out the flames Tuesday and the man is being treated at West Jefferson General Hospital. He says the truck's other driver, a woman, was not hurt.

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners of Houston says the truck was in an ethanol loading area at the company's Harvey terminal when the fire started about 11:15 a.m.

Spokesman Richard Wheatley says the company is investigating the cause.

Cristy Finnorn says she heard about a half-dozen explosions from her nearby boutique.

According to its website, Kinder Morgan stores and transfers petrochemicals and other bulk materials at several Louisianafacilities.
