The plans are still moving forward for major upgrades at the Jennings American Legion Hospital to the tune of $10 million dollars.

The State Bond Commission has approved the hospital revenue bonds under the Jefferson Davis Hospital Service District 1.

Jennings American Legion Hospital CEO Dana Williams says the project will be completed in three phases.  There will be upgrades to various areas of the hospital including emergency rooms.

In addition, the project will include that they will build even more operating rooms for the hospital along with more support services for patients and their families.

Williams says with the changes, they will be able to move admission to the lobby area, and make changes so that the emergency room entrance will only be used for true emergencies.
