A story surfaced this week from local elementary school J. Wallace James in which a substitute teacher put duct tape over a 4th grade student's mouth to keep the student from talking.

Since the story broke Acadiana has been buzzing with outrage; questioning how this could have happened, and what possible disciplinary action can be sought for the guilty substitute teacher.

The Lafayette Parish School Board has already stated the substitute will never work in their district again and the mother of the taped child is reportedly pursuing criminal charges.
