BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — A Bossier City toddler has died after being found in the pool of her family home.

The Times reports police responded to a call around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the mother, realizing the 13-month-old girl was not in the house, searched for her outside. That's when she found her child in the pool.

The mother then called 911 and started CPR. When firefighters arrived, continued CPR and then took the infant to Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the name of the mother and child will not be released.
