15-Year-Old Carencro Boy Arrested For Allegedly Groping Classmate

CARENCRO, La. (KPEL) -- A 15-year-old Carencro High School student was briefly arrested on allegations he inappropriately touched a female student.

The Carencro Police Department says they were contacted by the victim's mother about the sexual battery.

During the investigation, police say they learned the boy was trying to have an "unsolicited sexually inappropriate conversation" with the victim. After telling him that she didn't want to talk to him and after trying to walk away, the suspect allegedly touched her in an "inappropriate sexual manner."

Police arrested the teen and later released him into the custody of his parent.

Police say the case will be sent to the District Attorney's Office for review.
