15 Year Old Shot In Abbeville

A 15 year old was critically injured early this morning in a shooting in Abbeville at the intersection of Myrtle and Franks Alley Streets.

Abbeville Chief of Police Tony Hardy tells KPEL that the victim had already been transported to Abbeville General when Abbeville police officers arrived on the scene.

Investigators with the Abbeville Police Department determined that the victim had been shot one time. The victim was later transferred to Lafayette General where he remains in critical condition as of press time.

Abbeville police continue to investigate the shooting and have picked up another juvenile, age 16, in connection with the incident. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Abbeville Police Department at 337-893-2511.
