EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A former Eunice High School teacher has been arrested following allegations she sent sexually explicit text messages and photos to a student and that she had a sexual relationship with the school's principal.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police said Jaqueline Fruge has been charged with one count of prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student.

Guillory said faculty had knowledge of the explicit text messages, but the school's principal did not report the teacher to police, a violation of state law.

"During the investigation it was discovered that there were cases of sexual misconduct taking place between members of the faculty on the school campus," Guillory said, referring to Fruge and the school's principal.
