METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says two riders fell from different floats during a Mardi Gras parade in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie.

WWL-TV reports that they were said to be a man and a woman. The Krewe of Jefferson truck parade was stopped while emergency workers got them into ambulances.

There was no immediate word about their conditions.

A sheriff's office spokesman did not immediately answer a call and email from The Associated Press.

Truck parades are assemblages of floats built on flatbed trucks. The floats are generally created and decorated by the family or group sponsoring each float.
