ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Two prisoners at the U.S. Penitentiary in Pollock have been sentenced for beating a fellow inmate resulting in traumatic brain injury.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley said Friday that 33-year-old Jeffrey Lovell, of Evansville, Indiana, and 36-year-old Christopher Simpson, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, each was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell to 68 months and 71 months in prison respectively for one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. They were also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

According to evidence presented at the guilty pleas, video cameras captured Lovell and Simpson assaulting a third inmate outside of his cell on June 11, 2013.
