A couple from St. Martinville lost their lives in a single vehicle crash on State Highway 347 near Delcambre Road.

Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesman Stephen Hammons said that it happened Saturday night at around 10:22.  45-year-old Danny Boudreaux was driving his Corvette south on the highway, when he went off the left side of the road on a slight curve.  Boudreaux's car ended up in a ditch, overturning several times before it hit a tree.

Boudreaux was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.  His passenger, 44-year old Tammy Boudreaux, was wearing her seat belt and remained in the vehicle.  Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Martin Parish Coroner.

Police are uncertain if impairment played a role in the crash, so they collected routine samples and submitted them for analysis.  The crash remains under investigation.
