Steven Davenport and Waynesha Briggs, both 20-years-old and from Abbeville, have been arrested for their alleged roles in Tuesday night's shooting at Paw Paw's Liquor Store at 404 M.L.K. Drive.

Abbeville Police tell our news partners at KATC that Davenport was found on the scene with a gunshot wound to the hip area. But witnesses say Davenport caused the incident and pulled a gun on the owner of the store. That's when the owner pulled his own gun and wounded Davenport by shooting back.

Briggs is accused by witnesses of grabbing Davenport's gun, after he dropped it, and running away with it. The gun was later found underneath her home, according to police officers.

Davenport faces a charge of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Briggs faces a charge of Obstruction of Justice.

It was reported to police that Davenport was retaliating against the store owner's son for a fight that happened earlier between two girls.
