PLAIN DEALING, La. (AP) — A two-year-old Plain Dealing boy was killed while riding his big wheel tricycle on highway.

State police say Gavin O. Brown was reportedly riding his big wheel in the northbound land of Old Plain Dealing Hwy. around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit by a car driven by 69-year-old Oscar Wager of Plain Dealing.

Troopers say the child and his big wheel were pushed over 200 feet across the road into a ditch.

KSLA TV reports the child was airlifted to LSU Hospital in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers tested the driver for alcohol; however, the test came by negative.

The accident remains under investigation.
