The folks at The Family Handyman are awesome. They are always my 'go-to' when I need to DIY something. I love them! And today I wanted to pass along some valuable info that can help everyone, not just a few people, but everyone.

We all need hiding places for our valuables. I'm talking about things that you can't or don't want to put in a safety deposit box at the bank. These secret places are genius, and are in most homes, but if you need a visual, then check these brilliant ideas out ASAP.  I'm using some of these today, for sure. Be safe, friends.

 

  • Hollowed Out Book
  • Vacuum Cleaner, or any household item that is hollowed out
  • Inside an air conditioning grill
  • False Stair - with a hinge, no one will ever know they are walking on your jewelry
  • Watertight container buried in a potted plant
  • False bottom in a drawer
  • Kid's room
  • Cabinet gap - perfect to drop a manila envelope in
  • Removable 'Toe Kick' below your cabinets
  • Garage Door Opener shroud
  • Fake brand name containers - think mayonnaise jars
  • Snap off grill under refrigerator and dishwasher
  • Pockets in your hanging clothes
  • Empty paint can
  • Fake PVC pipe, which is hollowed out for the valuables
  • Drill a hole in the top of any interior door
  • Phony plastic LB fitting to hide keys outside
  • Cylinder floor safe, or wall safe, inside a closet
  • False Top or Bottom on dresser drawers
  • For Cash, tape an envelope behind your headboard
