3 Indicted In Rape Of Elderly Mansfield Woman

MANSFIELD, La. (AP) — A DeSoto Parish grand jury has indicted three Mansfield men accused of beating and raping an elderly woman.

The Times reports Ladandrick Jones, 18, Michael Campbell, 18, and Emmanuel Bogan, 19, are charged with aggravated rape, aggravated burglary and second-degree battery.

They were being held Wednesday at the DeSoto Detention Center on bonds of $1.55 million each. The DeSoto Indigent Defenders Board is representing them.

Police said the three were arrested June 20, less than a day after the attack.

The 76-year-old victim told investigators she was unloading her vehicle at her Mansfield home about 10 p.m. on June 19 when a man grabbed her and forced her into the house, where the assault took place. After the attack, the woman was hospitalized for three days.
