Today Youngsville Mayor Wilson Viator joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' to discuss three major projects in his city.

An extension to Chemin Metairie Parkway has been completed and Viator says the project came in under-budget and ahead of schedule,

A ribbon cutting with Governor Jindal Thursday August 1, 2013 will officially open the extension all the way to LA Highway 90 and it will be a plus for Youngsville and the entire area.

The downtown renovation of Youngsville is progressing well and Mayor Viator says improvements will add eye-appeal to the area and provide much needed drainage.  According to Viator,

The area of Highway 89 near the Six Pack Plus store normally floods rapidly and makes passage impossible during rainstorms and new drainage will hopefully eliminate that problem.  In addition to drainage the project will provide landscaping, needed lighting and six foot wide sidewalks.

Youngsville's biggest project to date is construction of the Youngsville Sports Complex and Viator says that project is on schedule. Viator said,

I have to commend the contractors.  They've been working everyday they can.  They're working long hours even in this heat to get the complex ready for December 15th.  To be ready to play baseball in early spring we have to have the grass planted by September 15, 2013.

In addition to the complex Viator said there is more to come.

Last Thursday the Council voted to construct a planned community center and that should go up for bids in October.
