Louisiana College, a small Southern Baptist college in Pineville, plans to open a tuition-free graduate school for ministers next fall.

The Caskey School of Divinity is the third graduate school announced in three years by the college. It will open a year before a law school announced in 2007, and two years before a medical school announced last year.

College president Joe Aguillard says it will enroll 100 master's degree students in August, if the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools approves the program.

He says a foundation that wants to stay anonymous has promised a million dollars or more a year for the divinity school, and the first $1 million check came Dec. 14.

Night, weekend, one-week and Internet classes are planned for ministers who must hold outside full-time jobs.
