Lafayette Armed Robbery Suspect In Jail

One person is behind bars today following a failed armed robbery that landed another person in the hospital. Lafayette Police say the victim gave Dontevious Thomas a ride back to his car on Glouchester Drive. Thomas tried to rob the victim when they got to the car, but the two scuffled with each other, causing the gun to fire. The victim was struck in the face. Thomas fled the scene, but police tracked him down a short time later. Police chased Thomas for a short time before he crashed his car. Thomas has been booked on various charges of armed robbery and battery.
