$46,000 In Synthetic Marijuana Seized In Lafayette

Lafayette Metro Narcotics officers raided Purple Cloud on Bendel Road Friday afternoon and seized 27 pounds of synthetic marijuana worth $46,000 and $3,800 in cash. According to our news partners at KATC two employees in the store were not arrested but one was issued a misdemeanor citation for violating a new city ordinance banning the sale of synthetic marijuana. Investigators are still attempting to identify the owner of the business and that person could face charges if the seized synthetic marijuana tests positive for a banned substance.
