Six Lafayette schools are in danger of receiving academic sanctions from the state because of low academic performance school-wide or among individual subgroups.Federal Programs Director Phyllis Bartlett told the Lafayette Parish School Board Wednesday the subgroups include students who are minorities, have disabilities or are in poverty.  Bartlett would not name the six schools, only saying that they include two elementary, two middle and two high schools.  The Advertiser reports two schools received academic sanctions this year. N.P. Moss Middle School, a now defunct school, was named academically unacceptable for the third consecutive year. Carencro High School was labeled as "School Improvement" for the second year in a row.  By law, the school system is required to provide additional tutoring to schools with academic sanctions.
