UPDATE: 6 Year Old Killed In Marksville Shooting

Update: the 6 year - old killed in Marksville last night has been identified as Jeremy Mardis of Effie. Mardis' autopsy will be conducted in Lafayette.

The boy was struck by bullets fired by Marksville police after the boy's father, Chris Few, attempted to ram a police cruiser with his vehicle, KATC reports.|

Few remains in critical condition at this time.

Original story: A 6 year - old child is dead and another person injured after Marksville city marshals were forced to fire on a vehicle last night in Marksville.

Louisiana State Police report that the incident occurred after Marksville police fired on the vehicle after a pursuit, according to KATC. The driver is in critical condition, and the incident remains under investigation.
