The Bayou Vermilionville Festival & Boat Parade will take place on Sunday, May 21st; registration is now open!

It's the 6th Annual Bayou Vermilion Festival & Boat Parade, a celebration of and on the Bayou Vermilion that aims to increase awareness of the river as a viable source of recreation for Lafayette Parish and to promote the Bayou Vermilion District’s efforts along the Vermilion.

The festival will open at 10 am and will include a free morning yoga class, art exhibit, kids' crafts, face painting, live music and other activities.

Vessels of any shape and size are welcome to participate in the boat parade, which will begin at 2 pm on the day of the festival. The parade begins at Vermilionville and ends at the Camellia Bridge.

The festival will feature live music by Bonsoir Catin, food by La Cuisine de Maman and beverages, including the Boat Parade’s own craft beer, Floatilla Ale, made by Bayou Teche Brewing.

Businesses, as well as residents who live along the parade route, are encouraged to invite friends and family over to watch the parade from their back yard. Those that do not live along the parade route can watch the parade at Vermilionville, Beaver Park, Rotary Point or at the Camellia Bridge Launch for the finale. The after-party at the Camellia Bridge Launch is free and open to the public. For a map of viewing locations visit BayouVermilionDistrict.org or call (337) 233-4077.
