Duson Woman Allegedly Fractures Daughter’s Leg
A Duson woman was arrested Monday on charges of second degree cruelty to a juvenile after she allegedly injured her 9-month-old daughter.
Captain Kip Judice, Public Information Officer with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, says 25-year-old Cassidi Davis became frustrated when her daughter would not stop crying after several hours.
"[Davis] twisted the child's leg, causing a spiral fracture of the left femur bone," Judice says.
The girl was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. It was at this point that hospital staff informed police about the incident.
Davis has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
