8-Year-Old Killed In Fatal Crash In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Police say an 8-year-old boy was killed when a sport utility vehicle he was in lost control in a curve in an off ramp of Interstate 10 in eastern New Orleans.

The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/SOY7BD ) that the boy was identified as Adrian Antoine III of New Orleans. Antoine was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver and three other passengers remained in critical condition Sunday.

The accident took place shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday. According to police, a 27-year-old man was driving the sport utility vehicle when he lost control, causing the SUV to flip several times. Police say the driver and Antoine were ejected.

The accident is under investigation with toxicology results pending.
