81 Year Old Driver Dies In Lafayette Crash

81 year old Lafayette resident Joseph Rachal is dead today after a two vehicle crash.

Lafayette Police say they responded to the 800 block of Carmel Drive at 4:30am regarding a major crash. The investigation indicates Joseph Rachal failed to stop at the intersection of Noah Drive and Carmel and his vehicle was struck by a 2003 Yukon. Rachal was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries. The driver of the Yukon received minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
