The Vermillion Parish School Board has voted 5-3 to approve a flood mitigation agreement with the Vermillion Parish Police Jury. The schools in question are Erath High and Erath Middle.

One board member, Tony Fontana, questioned the ability of FEMA to pay for the 75% of the $2.6 million project.

Eugene Sellers, a parish engineer, says that the parish doesn't have the money right now to fund the entire project, just 25%.
