There's plenty to do in Acadiana this weekend! Here's a list of just SOME of the fun and delicious events going on:

  • The Sweet Dough Pie Festival on the grounds of St. Charles Catholic Church Saturday features all flavors you can imagine! There will also be tours of the historic grounds around the area, traditional arts & crafts and games for the kids.
  • The 10th Annual Rice Capitol Gumbo Cook-off is going on Saturday in historic Downtown Crowley. Geno Delafosse & French Rockin' Boogie will start the music at 10:30. For $5, you can taste as many gumbo entries as you like.
  • The Black Pot Festival is an Acadiana favorite happening Saturday at Acadian Village. Of course, there will be music and food. Don't forget to bring YOUR black pot to be seasoned by the pros!
  • Sunday, Lafayette Parks & Recreation is hosting Fall Fun Fest at Girard Park. It's free to the public. There will be a costume contest, games, candy, and refreshments for children and parents.
