A Guilty Conviction For A Lafayette Man in Shooting
A Lafayette jury has found Jamal Carmouche guilty of manslaughter after the 2010 shooting of Markus Despaine.
After a three hour deliberation, an 11-1 vote came back for the charge of manslaughter. Investigators never fully determined why the shooting happened. Sentencing will be coming at a later date according to District Judge Marilyn Castle.
Carmouche faces as much at 40 years in prison.
