On Saturday,  St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office narcotics agents were patrolling the Siracusaville area when they saw a driver fail to signal a turn.

The agents tried to stop the driver but he fled and eventually hit a tree stump.  A search of the car revealed $45,000 worth of heroin and firearms.

Barry Lee Jones of Morgan City and Brennon Norton Skinner of Siracusaville were both arrested and charged with heroin possession with intent to distribute, possession of firearms in the presence of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Skinner was also charged with resisting an officer by flight and warrants for failure to appear on multiple charges.

No bond has been set.
