Earlier this year, in February, a murder occurred in Welsh parish after a shooting killed a passenger in a car.

The Louisiana State Police and Welsh Police spoke with the driver of the car, Patrina Lyons, about the incident and she implicated a shooter. After police investigations, they have received an alibi from that shooter that would indicate that they were out of the city during the time of the shooting.

Last week, Lyons was arrested for her false swearing for the purpose of violating public health and safety.

She is currently booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on a $200,000 bond and faces up to five years in prison.
