An Official State Boat for Louisiana?

Louisiana is home to many symbols and designations for items to represent the state with a certain culture. So far we have symbols such as a state bird, crustacean, gemstone, tree and more. Now, a Louisiana representative wants to designate a state boat. The boat in question is the pirogue.

Rayville Representative Bubba Chaney says that it isn't a waste of the legislation's time because it won't take too much time to pass. Critics of this legislation say that Chaney is just using silly, frivolous legislation that waste the legislatures time.
