The "Lady Figs" are not what a Brooklyn group SPARK thinks they should be.  According to a report at Fox News, "the female version of the little figures who man the spaceships, trucks and forts children create. "Ladyfigs" are somewhat anatomically correct, which hypersexualizes girls, according to the group."  Why, because they say the little girl Lego's look like they have small breasts? I just don't see the boobs, but maybe I am wrong.  They even have a petition at change.org.  They just look like little toys I played with as a kid.  Parents, it's up to you to decide.

They have little breasts and they have fancy hair," the organization's executive director, Dana Edell, told FoxNews.com. "And it just disturbs us that this is the image that they want girls to see."
The group, SPARK movement, tries to end the sexualization of girls.  I totally agree with that, but these are just LEGOs, and I don't see anything sexual about them.  Yes, they have a little top and pretty hair, but these characters are just little girls, and that's what they look like.  I don't know where they see breasts, because to me they look like LITTLE GIRLS.
I applaud any group trying end the sexualization of girls, but I think they missed the mark on this one.  There is NOTHING sexual about these little figures.  They are pretty, but that's not sexual, that's just what little girls look like, pretty and precious.  Do you ever wonder why some people see a crime when no crime has been committed?  That really scares me.  I always played with Barbie dolls when I was a kid.  I also had tons of baby dolls, and I never, ever thought of any toy I ever played with as being sexual.  I know some toys of today are WAY OVER THE LINE, but I say leave these LEGOs alone.  They are just innocent toys.
I hope that SPARK goes after groups that sell sexy underwear to kids and clothing stores that have clothes for young girls that look like a prostitute should be wearing them.  There is a war!  Stop really bad toys and clothes, and don't buy crap that looks like it would make your child into something she or he is not, but get your hands off these LEGOs.  These are just little toys.
To the point that the toys are making a comment about which professions each gender should gravitate to, well I am sorry, as a little girl, I wanted the Easy bake oven, and I got one.  I wanted to play dress up, and stole my mother's high heels all the time.  But, I also remember a time when I climbed trees, wanted to be sheriff and catch the bad guys, and yes, when I realized Superman had x-ray vision, I wanted to hang up my lasso and invisible plane, and tell Wonder Woman to take a hike.  So I did.  The result?  I turned out just fine.  I always learned I could be whatever I wanted to be when I grew up!  I am what I wanted to be.  I am a wife, a step-mother, and I love to shop for shoes and handbags.  I have a job that I work hard at, so I can have money to buy shoes and handbas.  I also love to go to the range to shoot with my husband, (complete with me listening to his instructions-OMG, am I turning against my gender?) and I love to watch action movies.
Maybe we should just let girls be what they are......girls.  Maybe we should stop looking for a crime where none has been committed, (these cute LEGO girls) and roast the real criminals over the fire-the ones that would try to push our girls into something they are not yet.....women.  Let's get the real criminals, and tell them to take their hands off our kids! and let's leave the rest of the world alone.
I don't see any real crime here, do you?
