Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left an unrestrained Abbeville man dead early Sunday morning on U.S. 167.

Master Trooper Brooks David reported 21-year-old Adan Quinn was killed when he drove his car ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected and overturned near River Road.

Quinn was partially ejected from the vehicle in the crash. The Vermilion Parish Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene.

Twenty-one-year-old passenger Bryan Gamez, of Abbeville, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries. He remains at Lafayette General Hospital wher he is being treated for his injuries.

Impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash that is still under investigation.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that distracted driving continues to be a major problem throughout Louisiana. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always wearing a seat belt, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death.
