ABBEVILLE, La. (KPEL) -- A shooting victim is not cooperating with investigators after taking a gunshot wound to his groin.

Police there tell KATC they responded to a reported shooting at about 4:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Green Street and South Lamar Street.

Officers found several bullet casings and shortly after found 20-year-old Quincy Landry, the television station reported. He was transported to a local hospital for the gunshot wound.

Landry refused to answer questions from investigators when they tried to interview him, KATC reported. Officers said they found a "substantial amount" of illegal narcotics and paraphernalia, which they believed was a contributing factor in the shooting.

If you have any information that could help investigators, you're urged to call the Abbeville Police Department at 893-2511.
