Abbeville Suspects Arrested For Illegal Drug Activity

Two people were arrested in Abbeville on drug related charges.  That after a police chase took place to take them into custody.

Police say that they got a tip and found a suspicious vehicle when they arrived on the scene.  The driver, 18-year-old Stephen Brailey, took off when police arrived and wrecked after missing a turn.

As police approached the vehicle, they say Brailey allegedly tried to throw away several rocks of what they think is crack cocaine.

This led to a search of the vehicle, turning up suspected marijuana and a handgun that was later found to have been stolen in Lafayette.

After the search, they arrested Brailey as well as his passenger, 18-year-old Ethan Dozier on charges related to the drugs and the stolen handgun.
