Acadia Detectives Working Shooting Case

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office continues to investigate an accidental shooting that happened this week.  Sheriff Wayne Melancon says his office received a report of a shooting at Kathy Apartments.

Detectives says that one person was taken to a Crowley hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Melancon says witnesses at the scene said that two people were playing with a gun in the apartment when the gun went off.  The shot from the gun hit the women in her upper body area.

The victim was treated at the hospital in Crowley and later transferred to a hospital in Alexandria.

Sheriff Melancon says the investigation into this incident is still going on.
