Acadia Parish Man Dies After Crash On Highway 97

State Police Troop I Spokesman Trooper Brooks David says one man is dead while another is in the hospital after a crash Wednesday night on Highway 97 in Acadia Parish.

David says the driver of the truck, 42-year-old Joseph Joseph II, drove off the road, the truck flipped and ended up in a ditch.

Neither Joseph nor his passenger, 34-year-old Eric Bergeaux of Basile, were buckled up.

Joseph later died at a hospital while Bergeaux is being treated for moderate injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
