UPDATE: Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson responded to questions about the Crowley Police Officer lip sync video that has gone viral.

This morning I have received numerous calls from media outlets regarding a Crowley Police Officer posting a lip sync challenge on Face Book to the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.
This email is to advise everyone that our agency will not participate in this challenge. I feel that when a deputy puts on our uniform, they are representing the public by doing everything within our power to deter, stop and fight criminal activity. On or off duty, that uniform represents not only our department but the citizens we serve, that being the tax payers of our parish. I would much rather see our deputies focusing on the spike in criminal activity rather than a Face Book Challenges.

Crowley Police Officer Landun Primeaux has thrown down the melodic gauntlet. In fine fashion, he has issued a lip sync challenge to other members of the blue line, specifically those in his department and with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.

Primeaux shared his not-so-vocal debut very early Monday morning (he WAS off duty), and the video has been shared thousands of times.

I messaged Primeaux on Facebook, and he explained why he wanted to share the video:

Got to show the public that we’re “human” just like everyone else.

It will be interesting to see who responds. It will be more interesting to see whose performance is the best.

If you share one, make sure to use #lipsyncbattle and/or #callingout so we can all follow along.

Well done, Officer Primeaux!
