ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Acadian Ambulance Service will continue to provide exclusive emergency and non-emergency ambulance services in Rapides Parish for at least four more years.

The Town Talk reports the Rapides Parish Police Jury has voted to renew its contract with the Lafayette-based company for the period of Nov. 1, 2015, through Oct. 31, 2019.

Paul Fuselier (FEW'-suh-lay), community and governmental relations manager for Acadian, thanked the Police Jury for "the big vote of confidence" in renewing the contract.

The Police Jury also this week received week the February report from Acadian Ambulance on response time to calls for ambulance service. Acadian is meeting the response-time requirements, but just barely in some cases, and Fuselier is looking for improvement.
