One of the biggest artists in the history of Cajun music passed away yesterday when we lost the great D.L. Menard. He was 85.

And ever since learning of the news, it seems that everyone who knew this amazing man has been sharing their stories and fond memories.

By all accounts Mr. Menard was a geniune, salt-of-the-earth delightful person to be around who absolutely would light up any room he entered.

We gathered a few social media posts by local musicians that knew him best.
