Week Seven's High School Football Forecast highlights the rivalry between LHS and Acadiana, STM and Carencro, and another look at Breaux Bridge.

When it comes to rivalries around Acadiana, the Mighty Lions and Wreckin' Rams mutual antagonism runs about as deep as it gets. Both schools have been around for decades, and generations of families have participated in one of the fiercest, unpredictable games every year. What will this season bring?

Lafayette High is looking to erase the memory of last season's loss via a last minute hook-and-ladder from Acadiana. Head Coach Jay Domengeaux said before the season that his players took it to heart, so they'll be packing an extra emotional punch. That being said, Acadiana appears to be catching stride with RB/DB Jayrin Wilson showing off in all aspects of the game. Expect drama, but LHS will certainly go in as underdogs again.

All of District 4-4A will be watching the scoreline of St. Thomas More at Carencro. Those two teams, along with Teurlings Catholic, appear to be set up for a three-way tug-of-war for the district title, and games like this count double.

Jim Hightower's Cougars are coming off a few dominant offensive performances, so Gabe Duffy, Tyreik Cambell and the Bears offense better be ready to throw some points up. These two teams could combine for 100 if the night is right. Bring your popcorn.

In the News Talk 96.5 KPEL Game of the Week, Ian Auzenne and Brandon Comeaux will head out to Abbeville for an interesting match against Breaux Bridge.

Whenever you play Breaux Bridge, don't expect a lot of points...for either team. The Tigers struggle to score, but their suffocating defense keeps every game in reaching distance. Abbeville started off with a winning record, but now they're at an even 3-3. Technically speaking, the difference in a win or loss could set the tone for the rest of their District 5-4A slate.

Head out to the stands and take in the Friday Night Lights, Acadiana. Before you know it, we'll be wishing football season was still around...
