The 7th Annual benefit  Gumbo Cook-Off will be Saturday, January 26, at Frank's Downtown and Doran Law Firm in Opelousas. Hours are 8:00 a.m. until.

The Cook-off holds a benefit for someone within the Community who needs help due to illness, usually a child. This year's beneficiary is a young lady named Miya Norse. Miya's 14. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in 2012.  Miya's Angels ( a Facebook group page in support of her) and her family & friends believe she will win this fight.
