Accused Carjacker Puts Himself Into Hospital

28-year-old Kendall Reed is in the hospital after allegedly stealing another man's SUV, then crashing it into the 200 block of North Main Street.

According to our news partners at KATC, Opelousas Police say it happened around 6:42 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of North Main Street. Officers say Reed allegedly whacked the victim in the head with a tool as the victim was leaving for work, then sped off in the victim's SUV.

Reed is now suffering from internal injuries and several cuts on his head and hands. Once he gets out of the hospital, which is expected to be in a few days, he faces many charges.
