A man described as a heavy set black male is on the loose after allegedly stealing money from the Breaux Bridge Truck Stop on Mills Highway near the St. Martin/Lafayette Parish line.

Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says the suspect, allegedly attacked a clerk there in order to get the undetermined amount of money. Major Higgins says the same suspect tried to do the same thing earlier at the Cash Magic Casino on Mills Highway in Breaux Bridge, but was fended off by the clerk there.

Major Higgins says the suspect fled into Lafayette Parish and was seen entering a white four door car.

The suspect is described as wearing a black and grey striped muscle shirt and blue jean shorts. He is well groomed, and has a large tattoo on his right shoulder. The suspect is about 5'8" to 5'10" tall and weighs approximately 200 to 230 lbs.
