Aggravated Arson Charges Leveled In Lafayette Fire

31 year old Paul Odom was arrested last night and charged with aggravated arson after Lafayette firefighters responded to a call at an apartment complex on Vieux Orleans Circle. When crews arrived they discovered one of four apartments was on fire. The blaze was extinguished within 10 minutes but the apartment sustained moderate damage. Investigators determined the fire originated in a rear bedroom and had been intentionally set. Paul Odom was identified as a suspect and during questioning admitted to setting the blaze. No motive was determined and Odom was booked into the the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
