BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to the hospital after he walked into the Baton Rouge airport with a child, got loud and acted belligerent, forcing airport police to subdue him.

Tony Williams, chief of police at Baton Rouge Metro Airport, tells The Advocate Jonathan Bonner was agitated when he walked into the airport with the child in his arms about 9 a.m. Saturday.

Williams said an airport officer tried to calm him, but could not. He says another officer arrived and the two of them grabbed the Bonner and took him to the ground out of fear for the child's safety.

After Baton Rouge police arrested Bonner, Williams said he was taken a hospital because of his behavior. The child went with family members.
