Louisiana Ragin' Cajun outfielder Aleah Craighton was named Player of the Week by both the Sun Belt Conference and the Louisiana Sports Writers Association on Monday.

A freshman out of Dutchtown High School in Prairieville, La., Craighton went 7-10 last weekend against ULM in a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series, which concluded the Cajuns' regular season schedule, along with four home runs, five runs scored, and nine runs batted in.

Craighton, who homered twice in both halves of Saturday's doubleheader, set a career-high with six RBIs in the second game of the twin bill, four coming on her first career grand slam homer.

For the season, Craighton is hitting a .397 with 11 homers and 42 RBIs.

It's the sixth time a Louisiana player receives a weekly Sun Belt honor this season, and the sixth time that a UL player has been honored by the LSWA.

Craighton and the 10th-ranked Cajuns begin postseason play this week in San Marcos, Texas, at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament being held Wednesday-Saturday
