SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — The recent fatal shooting by police of a 22-year-old man was the focus of a small, peaceful protest in Shreveport.

A handful of demonstrators carried photographs of De'Eric Bailey on Thursday as they protested alleged police brutality. They gathered on the steps of the Caddo Parish Courthouse. Others killed by law enforcement officials over the last 10 years also were a focus of the demonstrators.

Bailey was shot last month on Interstate 20. Police said Bailey nearly ran over someone as he attempted to flee from authorities.

Shreveport police announced last week that their investigation into Bailey's death is complete. The Times of Shreveport reports that the matter has been turned over to the Caddo District Attorney's Office for review.
