The woman accused of prostituting children was extradited to Lafayette from Houston shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, state police said.

According to Louisiana State Police Trpr. Stephen Hammons, Darneesha Martin was brought back to Lafayette after being arrested in Houston nearly two weeks ago.

The arrest, which resulted from an "Operation Carpe Diem" investigation, came two months after the arrest of 19-year-old Alcoby LaSalle of Lafayette for the same crime.

Martin was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges trafficking children for sexual purposes and promoting prostitution.
