Two drug arrests have been made this week in Vermilion Parish.

The first happened when police got a tip that drugs were being sold out of a home north of Abbeville.  They went to the home of 26-year-old Anthony Bertrand and found suspected marijuana plants being grown on the property. Bertrand was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and was subsequently charged with failure to appear for court for a traffic violation.  His bond was set at $6,000.

In the second arrest, police stopped 30-year-old Maxie Baudoin of Abbeville for a traffic violation.  After searching his vehicle, they found several packets of synthetic pot called "POW Re-Load."  His car was towed and he was arrested on charges of possession with the intent to distribute a schedule 1 drug (synthetic marijuana). Baudoin was also arrested on numerous contempt of court warrants.  His bond was set at $21,000.
