Always Be Aware Of What You’re Shooting At: Firearms Friday
Make sure you know exactly what you're shooting at, and always make sure you know what's behind what it is you're shooting, according to Glenn Fleming from Acadiana Gunworks in Scott.
"Let's say you're shooting at a deer with a 7 mm magnum," Fleming said. "That's a stout round. It's going to go through the dear, probably, and into whatever is behind it. So if you're buddy Fred is hunting over there behind the deer somewhere, Fred is going to have a bad day."
An app, Safety Shop, exists that allows hunters to input where they are, and they can see via the app where other hunters, who must also be using the app, are. The app was developed by a hunter in Acadiana.
Also discussed on Firearms Friday:
- Should I get a muzzle brake?
- The resignation of a high-ranking ATF official.
